The Blue Beat is a great alternative to the typical beach side bars overrun by college kids and loud music piped in from a bartenders ipod. Offering live music every night of the week, The Blue Beat is one of the oldest bars in Newport and they are one of the few that (for the most part ) only serve beers from the local brewers. They also offer a great menue that you can enjoy on their outdoor deck with views of the ocean. Come in early for dinner and happy hour and stay for the show. This is not only one of our favorites, it is also a favorite of the locals.
